Referred to locally as the ‘dog walking field’ and historically as ‘bogey park’

Please select your preferred option:
  • Option A – Leave the field in its current condition with a mosaic of short and long grass to be maintained by the Parish Council in an informal design encouraging biodiversity, wildlife habitat and the natural environment
  • Option B – Shared Community Space (Trial Period)
  • Option C – Football Training Use (Trial Period)

Edit : This post previously provided a link to a Google form survey but after going live the Council was advised the dimensions differ from those originally provided to the Council.

Karenza,

We would like to use the area for fixtures.

So the 90m x 60m size is required.

The request back in January was for training only in preseason which was not taken any further ahead.

Thanks,

Kori

Millbrook Parish Council have asked the Football Club to ‘stake out’ and measure the specific area they are requesting.

Option A – Maintain Current Grass Cutting Contract

Leave the field in its current condition with a mosaic of short and long grass to be maintained by the Parish Council in an informal design encouraging biodiversity, wildlife habitat and the natural environment.

Option B – Shared Community Space (Trial Period):

The Parish Council will cut the central area  of the field short to a height of approximately 10cm during the summer season and it would be of a suitable standard for community activities. The cut central area will cover an area of 30m x 25m.

Option C: Football Training Use (Trial Period)

Millbrook Football Club will cut and maintain an area of 63m x 53m (to a suitable height for football matches and  training).  This will be used by Millbrook Football Club on Monday evenings (18:30–20:00) and Sunday afternoons (from 14:00–16:00)  for training and youth games from early / mid July until the last week in September.

Request from the Secretary of Millbrook Football Club

“Would there be any appetite to bring back Bogey Park as a second football pitch?  We are looking to expand our current Youth setup and also the possibility of a third men’s team at the Club.  I have attached an image of where the pitch used to be.

  • The football club are happy to cut and maintain Bogey Park, we would do a poo patrol etc prior to every game.
  • Most likely there would be one game a week on there, possibly two and will be mostly Sunday afternoons.
  • Goalposts, nets, corner flags etc all provided by the football club.
  • All we ask is for permission for the Parish Council to let us use the pitch.
  • The pitch would directly benefit players in the village who would be playing on the pitch.
  • We are stacked out at Jenkins at the moment with 2 adult sides and 2x u18s sides.
  • We want to grow the Adult and Youth setup within the Club Bogey Park would enable us to do this.”

Questions to answers relating to Millbrook Football Club proposals.
