At the Annual Parish meeting this year there was a request made not to flush lake during the bird nesting season – The Environmental Agencies confirmed that the lake is flushed regularly to reduce the numbers of midges, which coincides with the bird nesting season. If flushing was stopped during this time, the midge reduction would be compromised. This would need to be an acceptable consequence.
