Millbrook Football Club proposal / use of the main playing field

Jun 9, 2026 | Community News, Parish Council News

Request from the Secretary of Millbrook Football Club

Would there be any appetite to bring back Bogey Park as a second football pitch?  We are looking to expand our current Youth setup and also the possibility of a third men’s team at the Club.  I have attached an image of where the pitch used to be.

  • The football club are happy to cut and maintain Bogey Park, we would do a poo patrol etc prior to every game.
  • Most likely there would be one game a week on there, possibly two and will be mostly Sunday afternoons.
  • Goalposts, nets, corner flags etc all provided by the football club.
  • All we ask is for permission for the Parish Council to let us use the pitch.
  • The pitch would directly benefit players in the village who would be playing on the pitch.
  • We are stacked out at Jenkins at the moment with 2 adult sides and 2x u18s sides.
  • We want to grow the Adult and Youth setup within the Club Bogey Park would enable us to do this.

Dog Walking Field (historically known as Bogey Park)
Community Use Consultation
Millbrook Football Club has expressed an interest in using the dog walking field twice per week for football training sessions. This would require the dog walking field to be maintained with shorter grass suitable for football.
We would like to gather community views on the future use of the field.
Which option do you support?
A. Football Training Use
Allow Millbrook Football Club to use the field twice per week for training.
Grass would be cut and maintained to a suitable standard for activities.
Monday evenings 1830-2000 training until the last week in September.
Sunday afternoons 1400-1600 for Youth games.
B. Shared Community Space (Trial Period)
The Council cuts the central area of the field short during the summer season to a suitable standard for activities.
The space remains available for informal community use, children’s activities, and recreation.
The arrangement would be reviewed and evaluated at the end of the trial period.
C. Preserve for Wildlife
Leave the field in its current condition encouraging biodiversity, wildlife habitat, and the natural environment.
Please select your preferred option:
  • Option A – Football Training Use
  • Option B – Shared Community Space (Trial Period)
  • Option C – Preserve for Wildlife
