Fake Covid vaccine text message alert

Jan 7, 2021 | Community News, COVID-19 Updates

Please see message below from Grahame Mace, Cyber Protect Officer of Devon and Cornwall Police:

Please forward the attached alert out to your staff, volunteers or any community  groups you think might be interested, we are seeing an increase in Phishing and in particular Smishing (SMS texts) being sent to individuals stating they are eligible for the Covid vaccine, these texts purport to be from the NHS and the link in the text takes you to a very convincing looking NHS website, you are then asked to confirm your identity and provide your payment card details! (The NHS will never ask you for your payment card details)

Unfortunately people are falling for this scam and handing over their personal details. If you are able to forward the attached it would help us in preventing people from becoming a victim.
