b. Hybrid Black Poplar tree in Millbrook Tractor Park: To note and agree next steps regarding Cornwall Tree Consultancy’s recommendation of a reduction in height and radial spread of no more than 7.0m and then managing a 5-year cyclical re-pruning programme.
The report also states 2 no. branches require pruning / reducing to prevent branch snap.
c. Hybrid Black Poplar tree in the Junior Football Field: To note the feedback from the arboriculturist which states ‘The western tree in group G1294 has a decay fungal bracket at its base. It is in my professional opinion that there is likely to be sufficient sound (non-decayed) wood to continue supporting a full crown at this stage. However, this should be better confirmed with a detail assessment and a 3-d tomograph within the next 2-years. Wood properties of poplar species are generally weak, and decay is likely to spread further into the tree. The council should consider budgeting for either a detailed assessment or removal’ and agree next steps.  The report also states 1 no. branches require pruning / reducing to prevent branch snap.
