You may have seen that further strike dates have been announced in the coming weeks. On Saturday 1st October, ASLEF (train drivers), Unite (Train Care Depot staff) and the RMT (on board and station staff, and Network Rail signallers) were on strike.
Strikes planned for this coming week are: Wednesday 5th October (ASLEF only), Thursday 6th October and Friday 7th October (TSSA managers and office staff only) and on Saturday 8th October (RMT only).
As train drivers will strike on Wednesday 5th, there will be no service on the vast majority of the rail network on these dates. GWR will run a very limited service on the routes listed and details can be found on the dedicated strike webpage: www.gwr.com/strike.
GWR are working as quickly as possible to confirm the train plan for the 6th, 7th and 8th October, there will also be some knock on impact to days following the strikes and it is likely that late evening services the day before strikes will be affected.
GWR’s advice to customers is not to travel on strike dates unless absolutely necessary. There will be no rail replacement services in operation. Revised timetables will be entered into journey planners as quickly as possible and the dedicated strike page kept updated.
